Hamish & Buster is an independent Australian brand, founded by Miranda Walker and Susan Earl, to celebrate our love of Australian and other animals.

It’s the home of beautiful homewares and gifts - celebrating Australian design and inspired by our love of animals… from iconic Australian creatures to our favourite companions, dogs and cats, blending the original design of illustrator, Susan Earl, with a colourful and individual modern aesthetic.

We want you to smile when you see our pieces and let us help fill your world with a little more joy (and let’s face it, we can all do with more of that!).

We started with a collection of cards, gradually adding a number of homewares, kids T-shirts and baby onesies. Combining original illustration with quality design, H&B celebrates our love of Australian (wild and domestic) animals and flora in a playful and beautiful way.

Together we have designed each product and, as we grow, we are careful to source suppliers both in Australia and overseas, who are committed to ethical work practices and making products in an environmentally responsible way.

We are often asked about our name and logo. Both are inspired by two family cats (ginger) Hamish and (grey) Buster, here in their younger days!

I have always loved this quote by Tori Amos –

“I know I’m an acquired taste, I’m anchovies, and not everyone likes those hairy little things, if I was potato chips, I could go more places”.

Hi, I’m Jenni.

There has always been a dream in my heart to run my own business – I don’t know whether I thought it would be glamorous or what I was after was freedom.

I did know it would be design related. The vision has always been strong – fashion, accessories & homewares – now…where to start?

Life lessons are interesting – we all crave that sense of belonging – to be part of a pack, however we strive to stand out from the crowd! I have learnt that the greatest challenge we will have in life will be with our selves – with our mindset. We become the labels we create ourselves.

Looking back, I so desperately wanted to “fit in” I was trying to make myself into another person in the hope I would be liked better than the version of me. I continued to chip away at myself, at my creative pursuits, at my body and even my mothering. I was lost in the expectations of others and so unsure of ME.

Ever noticed that we don’t always get what we want in life – we get WHO we ARE. We CAN actually change our lives when we are prepared to discover the best version of ourselves, shift what we think….say…..and our actions.

1964thelabel was inspired by me finding me.

1964 is the year of the dragon – the year I was born. A generic number to most, yet as I become more settled in my ‘anchovy’ skin, I am now proud to be building my lifestyle business that I had dreamed of 30 years ago.

thelabel - is a reference to the labels we place on ourselves as we travel this journey of life. They can build our confidence or can eat us away.

I encourage you to travel (my conversation with our son is that you need to lose yourself in order to find yourself), stretch yourself beyond your comforts, be open to learning and open to new opportunities and find a piece of JOY…e v e r y d a y.

Welcome - this is the beginning of my journey, may you be inspired to follow your own dream.

Loveliness Studio

Loveliness Studio opened in 2020 as a basic Handmade Crafts Store offering crochet and polymer clay products. The studio is online only for selling finished products at the moment and will develop to become an open store in order to provide workshops.

Based on the big dream, we are working on increasing our product selection and now stock tools, equipment, and materials for crafters of every type. We would like to become one of the warm places for crafts lovers in Melbourne for sharing arts and crafts skills.

Nature is at the heart of all we do. At first glance our work might look abstract, but each piece is created to represent aspects of nature which mean so much to both of us and to help remind you of the beauty of this incredible planet we need to save.

Iridescent insect life, vast calming oceans, exquisite sunsets, aerial views of tulip fields, geodes and other geology formations, birds' feathers, planets, forests, flower petals, butterfly wing patterns, trees and so much more.

Consequence of Change

Art is our passion. We create bespoke collectors’ items you can wear. Add to that our emphasis on promoting artists, graphic designers and illustrators and a social conscious, you have a powerful combination. You have Consequence of Change.

Being a part of the Consequence of Change movement is an appreciation of bold aesthetics and playful ideas. We focus on providing an experience beyond simply the end product, and have a passion for making a positive impact led to the creation of Consequence of Change.

In collaboration with the art community we have identified the missing piece in the fashion industry: wearable art. Acting as both a platform for artists and a vehicle for social and environmental change, Consequence of Change has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2019.

We curates each piece by connecting with artists, illustrators and graphic designers from all around the globe. Each bespoke artwork slots perfectly onto every limited edition bag or garment to share with the world.
